ELECTRIC HEATING FOR ADVANCED USERS
JAWO heaters are well known for their outstanding quality “Made in Germany” and hand-made work. The production site of the company is located in Erzhausen near Frankfurt. JAWO heaters are suitable as a full heating system or auxiliary heating for the transitional period of the year, and offer the best possible replacement for a night storage heating system. Thanks to a milestone in control technology, our appliances are equipped with integrated temperature and time regulation as well as with an ECO-function. This saves money and reduces energy consumption. Our qualified personnel will explain in detail how the heating can be adapted to your individual needs and structural conditions. We will be glad to offer you competent consultation, leaving enough time to decide for yourself.
Superior heating thanks to innovation – simply JAWO
JAWO electric heating is made of aluminium and is not just a simple heating system. It is an economical electric heating, superior to others thanks to innovation. We are driven by the ambition to constantly cope with new challenges and optimize our products to make them even more sustainable. Since we maintain close relations with our clients, we get the most direct and constructive critical remarks that enable us to search for improvements. Drawing conclusions from this feedback, we offer our clients sustainability, which is demanded by them everyday and that we must implement. The sustainability of our products is reflected in around 1000 hours of development, over 200 CAD drawings, eleven new prototypes and numerous trials. All these construction efforts have resulted in 150 practicable CAD drawings and three new marketable products.
Among our innovative products there are accessories such as new wall brackets and aluminium towel racks. The plain pedestals were replaced by brackets for fixing heaters to the floor. Another alternative to pedestals are roll brackets.
Due to a new concept of the convection profiles, JAWO heaters show a better relation between radiant and convection heat. We are the first German company to use integrated programmable electronic thermostats with an LCD-display. They are economical, transparent, precise and easy to handle. Errors due to radio transmitting or disturbances during the learning process now belong to the past – thanks to the innovative control technology of JAWO.
A further innovation is our collection of aluminium bathroom heaters. They fit our established JAWO series style. Heaters in the lamina line with sheet steel housing and our KOALIT storage, offered at reasonable prices, may be an alternative for your summer home, hobby or basement rooms and are a good value for the money. To complete our offer, we can help you with the individual financing of all our products.
We have managed to develop efficient and economical electric storage heaters. We use KOALIT, a material designed specifically for the accumulation of heat. It consists solely of natural materials (e. g. rapeseed oil) and minerals. One component of KOALIT is even being imported from Australia.
The electric heater
Its main colour is white. Its surface is scratch-proof. The energy-saving JAWO aluminium electric heating system works according to the principles and mode of operation of central heating. But unlike central heating, where the radiator heats up via hot water, our JAWO heating, with its numerous aluminium heating ribs that profile the front side, heats up from the extensive KOALIT storage core. The chimney-like profiles made from high-quality aluminium are attached to the housing at regular intervals. This way we get a surface that is many times extended. For the purpose of producing heat, stainless steel heat resistors are air-tightly pressed into the KOALIT storage core. Due to the storage plates touching the complete inner surface of the heater*, the dispersal of heat from the outer surface is very regular, thus reaching an intense and comfortable heat emission. Moreover, a fine convection is achieved due to chimney-like profiles*. Thanks to the perfect utilization of radiating heat and convection, JAWO electric heaters are extremely efficient in their overall performance. But not only the outstanding quality and efficiency of our heaters is remarkable; also their outer appearance is very modern and absolutely timeless. Their form and design are really exceptional. They suit every style of living. "'

1. How is the Jawo heater connected?
Our Jawo heater is operated via a standard 220V/230V connection. It can be operated via a normal Schuko socket or via a permanent connection to the power grid.
2. What consumption should I expect with the Jawo heater?
We cannot tell you or promise an exact consumption value for our Jawo heater. You will never find such consumption values exactly and you will not be awarded them. This varies from customer to customer. There are too many factors at play such as insulation; Characteristics, number and size of windows; Number of doors, possibly moisture in the walls; insulation of the ceiling; type of room or use; the target and actual temperatures; full heating or additional heating; heating time per day; Region etc. As you can see, it is impossible to determine exact consumption.
3. How does the Jawo heating work?
The function of the Jawo heater is logical and at the same time very easy to understand in principle. The Jawo heater absorbs electricity into its Koalit storage core via a stainless steel heating coil, which is pressed into the storage ceramic in an absolutely airtight manner (compression molding with approx. 160 tons). The resulting resistance causes the core to heat up, which heats up the coalite storage core as a whole. By heating the coalite, the aluminum housing is heated in a short time. The warm Jawo heater now sucks in the colder air from below and releases it as warm air in the upper part of the heater. Due to physical laws, a small suction is created, as with any heater that works without a fan. This effect causes the air in the room to constantly circulate, so that there is a constant exchange of cold and warm air. After a relatively short time, we now get a temperature difference between the ceiling and floor of just a few degrees Celsius. By warming up the aluminum body, we also get radiant heat that is pleasant for people. With the Jawo heater you can now forget about cold feet. With a night storage heater I have a night electricity tariff and it's a lot cheaper than with the Jawo heater. Yes, at first glance you will be cheaper with a night electricity tariff with a night storage heater than with our Jawo heater. Unfortunately, this is still an elegantly packaged fallacy of society to this day. Only at third glance do you realize that this does not correspond to the facts. Night storage heaters require two to three times the power, if not more, than our Jawo heater and end up being more expensive. It's not for nothing that you need strong current of 380V for night storage heaters. Also don't forget that the fan of night storage heaters runs on daytime electricity. The promised freedom from maintenance is also not available. Heater cartridges in night storage heaters lose power over time, similar to a conventional light bulb. One of the most unpleasant signs of wear and tear are the ball bearings of the ventilation fans, which make an unpleasant rattling noise when worn. Also, don't forget about cleaning the airways and dispersing dust, not to mention the monstrous size of these devices. We guarantee you a 100% maintenance-free Jawo heater. When replacing it with our Jawo heater, you can almost always use the existing cables from your night storage heaters, but the electrician has to reduce them from 380V to 230V at the power box. This means you can implement a 24-hour electricity tariff or a normal 230V AC tariff.
4. Is there a risk of rust with the Jawo heater in damp rooms such as a bathroom or toilet?
Our Jawo heaters do not rust. No, not just now, but never. We only use stainless raw materials. The entire housing of our Jawo heater is made of 100% high-quality aluminum. We consciously avoid rust-sensitive raw materials such as steel/sheet steel. Why is the Jawo heater such an ultra-lightweight? The enormous weight savings in our Jawo heater are based solely on the raw material aluminum, which we use for our body. Sheet steel housings are up to 35% heavier. This weight is noticeable in old buildings, which often have hollow walls. There is also another disadvantage with regibs or partition walls, which do not have a large load-bearing capacity. This means that our weight savings are not based on the open spaces inside the Jawo heater or any lightweight ceramics, as most of our competitors claim. After all, a competitor who is badmouthing us obtains their highly prized storage ceramics from the same sources as us.

6. Doesn't the aluminum housing of the Jawo heater cool down faster compared to a steel housing?
Aluminum has a different basic structure than sheet steel. Due to its density, it cools down a little faster, but it conducts heat more quickly and releases it to the environment more dynamically. It is definitely wrong to draw the conclusion that the Jawo heater cools down more quickly. Any heating in this area only retains heat for as long as the storage core allows or makes it available. The storage mass or storage medium should not be the sheet steel housing, but rather the core. In the worst case, such a housing acts as a “damper” for the heat that escapes. The Jawo heater makes it possible to conduct the maximum amount of heat to the outside or to the surface through the conductive aluminum body.
7. Interesting for the builder!
There is another interesting aspect for developers of apartment buildings: This means that disputes between landlords and tenants over the billing of heating and additional costs, which are part of the daily routine in larger, centrally heated residential complexes, can be avoided from the outset. This is where electric heat storage devices in conjunction with electric water heaters offer clear advantages. Since the electric heat is regulated room by room, an accurate and fair allocation of heating costs can be guaranteed for each apartment without much administrative effort. The tenant has control over the electricity meter at all times and bills the heating and hot water costs directly to the electricity supplier. This eliminates the administrative burden for the building owner for billing heating costs as well as additional costs for renting or purchasing heat meters, maintenance fees and TÜV costs for chimneys, tanks and other systems.
